Toil & Trouble is a point-and-click adventure game with a potion brewing mechanic. You play the role of a young witch who must explore a mysterious (but cozy) cottage and meet the characters that reside within!

Materials are ingredients that can be used to brew potions. They can be gathered from spawn locations within the cottage. If you're close enough to your cauldron, you can use them from your inventory to start brewing a potion.

To brew potions, look carefully at the ingredients you want to use. Most have a minimum and a maximum time. If an ingredient is in the cauldron for longer than its maximum time, the potion will be unusable. However, if any ingredient doesn't get enough time in the pot, the potion will also fail. You must space.out your additions to the cauldron so that everything is done cooking at the same time. To finish a potion, click the cauldron.

Potions can be applied to certain items within your inventory. The game has several potions, and each potion can be applied to one or more puzzle objects to give that object an effect. These effects will be necessary to make the items useful!

Puzzle Objects are objects that are used to solve puzzles. They can be placed in containers within the cottage, and can have potions applied to them.

The cat is your familiar! They will give you hints as to how to progress. If they aren't saying anything helpful, try exploring a bit more, and see if anything has changed!

In the first room, we put a cheat sheet. Puzzles can be hard to solve, so this piece of paper will kind of act as a walkthrough. You may have to scroll to see all of the recipes, so keep that in mind.
